U.S. Congressman. Born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, he attended Oklahoma College of Liberal Arts, was a successful in farming, the raising of cattle and served as member of the board of regents of Oklahoma Colleges. In 1967, he was elected as a Republican to the Ninetieth Congress, serving until 1969. Unsuccessful candidate for reelection, he was appointed Administrator of Farmers Home Administration by Richard President Nixon, serving (1969-73). He died at age 46 in a wheat field fire at his farm, near Chickasha, Oklahoma.
