Howard O. Armstrong, 81, retired dean of students at Wright College, died Dec. 27 in Grant Hospital of complications from cancer. He was a native of Anderson, Ind., and taught high school there. During World War II, he was stationed at Gen. Dwight Eisenhower's headquarters in London. His service there included a one-year fellowship at Oxford University. He received a master's degree from Ball State University and a doctorate in education from Columbia University. Before being appointed dean at Wright College, he served on the faculty at Boston University.
