Hartpence rites held Saturday
Mrs. Julia Helen Hartpence of Sayre, 69, died Friday in the Western Oaks Nursing Home, Oklahoma City, following an extended illness.
Memorial services were held Saturday at 4 p.m. in the First Christian Church at Sayre with Rev. Frank Scofield officiating.
Born July 11, 1910, at El Reno, Julia Helen Martin came with her parents to the Mayfield community when a child. She married Dorland Hartzell Hartpence at Sayre Dec. 24, 1931, and they made their home in Sayre. After his death in 1956 she was employed by the Sayre Memorial Hospital until her retirement. She was a member of the First Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother and one son, James.
Survivors are 1 son, Willard of Borger, Tex.; 1 daughter-in-law, Mrs. Jackie Hartpence of Oklahoma City; 6 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Mrs. Gladys Hartpence.
Interment was in the Sayre-Doxey cemetery under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service.
