Barbara Hart was born in Pennsylvania, March 2, 1834, and departed this life February 4, 1907, aged 73 years, 11 months, and 2 days. In her infancy she moved with her parents to Millersburg, Holmes Co., Ohio, (where her brothers Michael, John & William) were born. Her brother Layman was born in Germany. At the age of 12 she moved to Elkhart County, Indiana. At the age of 16, she was united in marriage with James Hart, who passed away in his 52nd year on August 4, 1880. To this union was born 17 children, 6 girls and 11 boys. She united with the Lutheran Church in Clearspring twp., 37 years ago. She leaves to mourn their loss two brothers, Michael Seddle of Goshen, Indiana and Leyman Seedle of Millersburg, Ohio. Nine children, James Buchanan, John L., Daniel M., Esmerelda Ann, Henry, Alonzo, Albert, Alfred, Allen and Bert; 41 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Benjamin Kendall of Valentine. Internment in Sloan Cemetery. Source – Lela Hart Stanner

Some records suggest that her maiden name could have been spelled SIDLE. She was orphaned at an early age and married young. She went on to have 17 children.
