He represented the 22nd District from 1945 to 1949, the 25th District from 1949 to 1953, the 24th District from 1953 to 1973, the 23rd District from 1973 to 1983, and finally the 21st District from 1983 to 1988. Congressman Jerry F. Costello was elected to fill his vacant seat in 1988.
