Enoch Gray was the son of Joseph Gray and Sarah Scott. He was born in Dunfries, York, New Brunswick, Canada. He migrated to Provo, Utah, Utah, United States. He married Mary Jane O'Brien 17 November 1878 in Elko, Nevada. They raised their family in Starr Valley, Nevada where Mary Jane died after suffering ill health after giving birth to their last child. Later Enoch moved to California where his two daughters were living. He is on the 1930 Census living with his daughter Hazel Phares and her husband Maurice Phares and their son Maurice.
