Albert Lincoln Howell was born 1 Jul 1856 to David Howell and Martha Ellen Wade at Calistoga Springs, Napa, California. In 1873, Albert moved from Napa County to San Luis Obispo County with his parents and siblings. Most of the family took the Steamship from San Francisco but Albert and his younger brother Edgar drove a wagon loaded with family household goods and brought three horses. Albert moved to Shandon in about 1886 and married Elizabeth Libby Johnson 16 Jun 1889. After World War I they lived in Orcutt and he worked in the oil fields. He got stomach cancer and they moved back to San Luis Obispo where he died 22 May 1928. Buried and Lawn Cemetery in San Luis.
