Stella Dreffs of Saginaw recently celebrated her 90th birthday with a surprise party at the St. Charles Saints Snowmobile club in St. Charles. The former Stella Krysta was born May 7, 1907 in Saginaw. She married Andrew Dreffs in 1924. He died in 1961. A son, Edward Dreffs, is deceased. She has six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Stella Dreffs is a member of St. Casimir Catholic Church and the Pulaski Club. She enjoys playing cards and visiting with family.

Passed away Sunday, June 20, 1999, at Luther Manor. Age 92 years. Stella Marie Kreska was born May 7, 1907 in Reading, Pennsylvania. She was married to Andrew Dreffs in May of 1924. He predeceased her September 12, 1961. She was a member of St. Casimir Catholic Church. Surviving are a daughter-in-law, Genevieve Dreffs, Chesaning; six grandchildren, Dale and Elizabeth Dreffs, Linwood; Daryl and Nancy Dreffs, New Hampshire; Darlene and Lawrence Frendscho, St. Charles; David and Cheryl Dreffs, Goodrich; Donna and Edward Jones, Belding; Diane and Joseph Krol, Kawkawlin; 13 great-grandchildren and three great-great- grandchildren. Stella was preceded in death by a son, Edward Dreffs, a great-grandson, a sister Helen Koby and four brothers, Alex, Ted, Don and Leonard Kryska. Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 23, 1999 at St. Casimir Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. John S. Sarge will officiate with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call at the Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. (between Shattuck and McCarty) where the family will be present on Tuesday from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. and at St. Casimir Catholic Church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. A Wake Service will take place 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the charity of your choice.
