THE DEATH OF ELIZA LINDSAY
Mrs. Eliza M. Lindsay passed away at the old homestead southeast of the city at 9 o'clock Wednesday night, death resulting from the infirmities of age. She was born in London, England, March 26, 1833, being in her 87th year. With her parents Samuel and Sophia Oyler, she emigrated to this country when but 7 years of age, settling first near Rochester, N.Y., and later coming to Tippecanoe County, where she had ever since resided. In 1854 she was married at Clark's Hill to Henry Lindsay, who died 11 years ago. She is survived by the following children; Mrs. J. Rinard, Birmingham, Al., Frank E. Lindsay of Brooklyn, N.Y., Mrs. William Cochran of Battle Ground, Curtis A, and Charles H. Lindsay of Clark's Hill and Samuel O. Lindsay of this city. Services at Home Friday 1:00 and a further service in the United Brethren church at Monroe at 2:00. Burial in Monroe Cemetery. (Page 3, Lafayette Journal Courier, Thursday, February 19, 1920)
