US Congressman. Attending schools in California, he graduated from Los Angeles State College, in 1962, from in Southwestern University, in 1967 and as served as a Sergeant in US Army, (1957-60). He was a member, California Assembly, (1972-78) and a delegate to California State Democratic conventions, (1972-78). In 1979, he was elected as a Democrat to the Ninety-sixth Congress and to the next eleven succeeding Congresses, serving until his death from a heart attack at age 66.
