Charles Lee "Chucky" Baker, Sr. died Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur, Texas. Charles, better known as "Chucky" was educated in the Port Arthur School System and graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1973. He left a legacy as an "All American" Football Star at Abraham Lincoln High School "The Beehive." He gained many outstanding recognitions, honors, and awards. Charles furthered his education at the University of Nebraska and Texas Southern University.

Charles served in the United States Army for eight years. He was later employed at Gulf States Utilities, now known as Entergy, for numerous years until his retirement.

Charles was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Helen Baker; his brother, Earnest "Big E" Baker Earnest Baker ; and his grandmother, Zora Granger Jack.

Cherishing beautiful, fragrant memories are his wife, Kathy Baker; daughters, Versiree Baker and Shalanda Baker; sons, Charles Lee "Lil Chucky" Baker, Jr. and Tevin Baker; father, Reston Baker; step-mother, JoAnn Baker; sister, Eleanor Baker-Watkins; brothers, Lawrence Baker, Dallas Baker, and Spencer Baker; aunts, Rose Elam and Elnora Granger; nieces, Kiara Baker and Taylor Baker; nephews, Earnest Baker, Jr., Torian Watkins, and Blake Watkins; and numerous cousins, other relatives, and friends.
