Ivaloo Mae Chidester passed away peacefully Monday, January 7,1980 at the home of her daughter in Elburn ILL , where she had been convalescing for the past few months. Age 81, she was born June 28,1898 at Topeka Kansas , the daughter of Arthur J and Hannah Lillian Marrs Gatchell. When she was 5 years old the family moved to Albia, Ia where she made her home until the early 1960's when she moved to Elburn, Ill. In 1974 she returned to Iowa where she made her home until recently when ill health necessitated her return to Elburn. For a number of years she worked as a housekeeper and companion to ill and elderly friends, in both Albia and Elburn areas. She was a member of the Wesley Methodist Church at Ottumwa, Ia, and a former member of the Albia Christian Church, also the Elburn Mother's Club and the East - 34 Needle Club at Albia. She is survived by 2 daughters, Marjorie(Mrs Vincent Finlinson) of Elburn and Mrs Hannah Spaeth of Aurora, 6 sons, James , Jack , and John all of Albia. Lawrence of Elburn, Delbert of Batavia, Ill , and Albert of Jesup, Ia , 39 grandchildren and 47 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husbands, Lawrence Chidester (1951) and Arthur Chidester (1978), 1 son Richard, 5 grandchildren , 2 great-grandchildren and a sister and brother in infancy.
Her funeral service will be held Thursday at 10:30 A.M. from the Albia Christian Church. The Rev. Donald Plumm will officiate and interment will be at Oakview Cemetery, ALbia, Iowa.
