CAPT. QUICKSALL PASSES AWAY
Captain Joseph Quicksall died at his home, 242 Wood St Sunday morning in his 73rd year.
Captain Quicksall was a well known and esteemed resident of our town, where he had lived for a number of years. For a long time he was in charge of the steamboat John A Warner, which ran between Trenton and Philadelphia. He also was captain of the large steamer Republic plying between Philadelphia and Cape May. Of late years he was employed at the United States Custom House in Philadelphia. He was a veteran of the Civil War and wounded in battle. He was an active member of H. Clay Beatty Post No 73, G.A.R., and Mohican Tribe, No 127, I.O.R. M. For a number of years Captain Quicksall was connected with the Methodist church and while in good health was a regular attendant the the services. His wife and one son survive him. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at this late residence at 2pm. Internment at Bristol Cemetery.
The remains can be sen on Tuesday evening by all of Captain Quicksall's friends who wish to view them.
