Dr. Charles Adams Dies Rites Sunday.
Dr. Charles Adams, 51, prominent Cordele physician and surgeon, died Friday night, in Adams Hospital, succumbing to a heart attack which he suffered in the day at his downtown office.
TURNER NATIVE.
Born in Turner County, Dr. Adams was the son of the late Homer Adams and Vola Massey of Sycamore. He graduated from Emory Medical School and later open office in Cordele for the practice of his profession in 1928. He did his post graduate work for four years at Grady Hospital. In 1938 he built the Adams Hospital in Cordele which later was enlarged.
Dr. Adams was a former member of the City Commissioner and served three years as president of the Crisp County Chamber of Commerce being the first president. He was active in educational affairs and was president of the local touchdown club during the 1950. He was a member of the Crisp County Medical Society annd the First Methodist Church and a steward.
SURVIVORS
Dr. Adams is survived by his wife Carolyn Rodgers, a daughter. Mrs Huntley Johnson of Great Lakes, Michigan; one son Charles Adams, Jr at Auburn, three sisters, Mrs. Alf Henderson, Sycamore, Mrs. W. L. Power, Plant City, Fla, Mrs Ernest Brown, Oglethorpe, Mrs. H. W. Belflower, Sycamore, Mrs. Jim King of Rebecca. Four brothers, Massey Adams, Detroit, Mich., Wesley Adams, Sycamore, Andrew Adams, Haines City, Fla. And Ben Adams, Delray Beach, Fla.
Two grandchildren Huntley Johnson, Jr. and Vola Christine Johnson and a large number of………
