Peacefully after a courageous battle at St. Joseph's Hospital on Monday September 14, 2009 in her 89th year. Beloved wife of the late Umberto for 57 years. Loving mother of Frank and his wife Mary, Carmelina and her husband Guerrino Tornincasa. Caring Nonna of Frank and his wife Soula, Michael, Ofelia and her fiancé Eugene, Sebastian and Angie. Beloved Bisnonna of Eleni, Athanasia, Umberto, Andriana and Yanni. Survived by Sisters Amelia, Dilma, Orienta and Brother Roger. Predeceased by 2 sisters and 2 brothers. Lida will be sadly missed by her sisters in law, brothers in law, nieces and nephews in Canada, U.S.A. and Italy. Special thanks to the Doctors, nurses and staff of the 4th floor at St. Joseph's Hospital for there care and compassion. Visitation at the Friscolanti Funeral Chapel (Barton and John Sts.) Wednesday 7-9pm. Thursday 2-4 and 7-9pm. Vigil prayers Thursday 8pm. Funeral Mass Friday 9:30 am at St. Anthony of Padua Church (Barton and Melrose) with entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
