Beatrice Romney Berg, age 93, passed away April 22, 2006 in Murray, Utah. Bea was born Oct. 8, 1912 in El Paso, Texas to Park and Vilate Lee Romney, after her family was driven out of Mexico by Poncho Villa. She grew up in Cornish, Utah and graduated from LDS High School in Salt Lake City, and attended LDS Business College. Bea married Frank Carl Berg on April 16, 1935 in the Salt Lake Temple.
Together they raised four wonderful children. Bea served in many church capacities including Relief Society, Primary and Young Women, and served on the General Board of the Primary.
She served with her husband on two missions: as President and mission mother in the Frankfurt, Germany and Great Lakes Mission. She also served a mission to the Washington DC Temple and as an ordinance worker in the Salt Lake Temple for 10 years.
Bea is survived by her children, Judith B. (Kent) Merrill, Frank David (Patricia) Berg, Patricia (David) Wade and Cynthia (Brent) Palmer; two siblings Milton (Carrie) Romney and Myrlene (Walter) Weist; 20 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Bea was preceded in death by her husband Frank.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday April 27, 2006 at 12:00 Noon at the Wasatch Lawn Mortuary Chapel, 3401 Highland Dr, where friends may call on Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the services on Thursday.
Interment will follow at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
