Son of James and Mary Elizabeth (Tuttle) Brown, killed during the Battle of Fishing Creek,at Nancy, Kentucky on January 19, 1862. 20th Tennessee Infantry, Company F. Buried in the mass grave. Marion had a brother, David M. Brown, who also fought at the battle of Fishing Creek. David who is buried in Simpson Co., KY., was the soldier responsible for burning the Noble Ellis paddle boat.
