Mr. Houston McDonald Wiles was born February 18, 1884 in Carrollton county, Tenn. and died at his home near Farmington, Mo. on Friday, September 24. His family had moved to Pemiscot county in 1904 and until several years ago he had lived in Caruthersville and surrounding communities. Mr. Wiles was a retired farmer and was 75 years, 7 months, 6 days old, at the time of death. In 1905 he married Miss Mollie Morton and three children survived this marriage; two sons, Vernus Wiles of El Monte, Calif, Vernon Wiles of Portland, Ore. and one daughter; Mrs. Pat Burroughs of Monterey Park, Calif.
In 1922 he and Miss Clara Neeley was married and five children of this marriage survived, three sons, Merlin M. Wiles, San Gabriel, Calif. and Jack and Bill Wiles of Farmington; two daughters, Mrs. Norvel Wells of Farmington and Mrs. Wayne Adams of Honolulu. Also he leaves 33 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday Morning, September 27, at the Cozens Funeral Home Chapel in Farmington with the Rev. Charles Ellison of Doe Run, Mo., officiating and burial was in Gideon, Mo. Cemetery, Cozens Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
