Obit from "Scapbook"

Death has again invaded our community and taken from our midst our neighbor, friend, companion, mother, and sister in Christ.

The subject of this brief sketch, Juliia E, MARIS (nee HILL) was born in Lancaster, Dallas County, Texas, A.D. 1866, and was married to W.T. MARIS in 1884. She united with the Methodist church at the age of 13 years and lived a consistent member of same until 1903, when she united with the missionary Baptist Church at Shady, Texas, where she lived as an honored , consecrated member of same until Feruary 10, 1906, when she bid farewell to earthly cares and went home to join loved ones who had gone before.

All who knew Sister MARIS speak in the highest terms of her Christian life and the fortitude with which she bore her suffering. We laid her away Monday, February 12th, in the Shady cemetery to await the ressurection morn.

May God bless and sustain the loved ones in their hour of deepest gloom and prepare them to meet her in heaven.
