Miss Dorothy Mae Adkins, 77, a resident of Warner St., died Saturday, March 26, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born on August 25, 1933 in Hewett, West Virginia to Jesse Adkins and Elva Bandy Adkins. She had been a resident of Thomasville since 1974 and was an employee of Carolina Underwear. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Joann Hagy and Norma Hendrix; and brothers, Gene Adkins and Jesse Adkins. Surviving are her sisters, Juanita Pyle and husband Russell of Caswell, VA, Yvonne Turner of Waynesboro, VA and Loretta Sanders and husband Charles of Temecula, CA; brothers, Norman Adkins of Inwood, WV, Glen Adkins and wife Pat of Tazwell, VA, and Jerry Adkins of Beckley, WV. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville with Rev. Daniel Downing officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6-8 PM. On-line condolences may be sent to www.jcgreenandsons.com.
