Mary's parents were Nathaniel L. & Josephine (Johnson) Moxley.

Mary was 15 years old when she married John C. Hamilton in Bonham, TX on July 25, 1892.

They children were:
Minnie (Aug. 25, 1893 - May 23, 1984)
Mabel (Jan. 9, 1895 - Oct. 11, 1993)
Emma Josephine (June 7, 1897 - Oct. 11, 1993)

John died in Yuba, Bryan Co, OK in Yuba, Bryan Co, OK on February 8, 1897.

Mary married Charles William Smith in 1898.

On July 16, 1900,
Lelah & Charles W. Smith, ages 23 & 29, were renting in Township 8, Chickasaw Nation, Indian Territory. Charles was a farmer. They had one son, David, age 7 months. Her Hamilton children from her first marriage to John were Minnie, age 7; Mabel 5; & Josie, 3.

They had been married 2 years; she had given birth to 5 children, but only 4 were living.

Lela & Charles W. Smith, ages 34 & 37, were renting a farm in Township 8, Bryan Co, OK. They had been married 10 years; she had given birth to 9 children, but only 7 were living. She & Charles had 4 children: David, age 9; William, 8; Joseph, 6; & Hettie, 2. Her Hamilton daughters, living with them, were Minnie, Mabel, & Emma, ages 16, 14, & 13.

A hired man, Clarence Purves, single, age 19, lived with them to help Charles with the farm work.

Mary L. & Charlie W., ages 54 & 58, owned a farm in Albany, Bryan Co, OK. Their sons, Dave, single, age 30, & Norman & his wife, Mary, ages 19 & 17, lived with them.

Mary's daughter, Minnie Hamilton, singe, age 36, lived with them, as died her widowed sister, Emma Miller, age 32, & her Miller children: Mary L., age 9; R.J., 7 (male); Kathleen, 6; & N.L., 4 (male). The family worked together farming.
