George Godard (Obituary)
George Godard was born at Shippensburg, Pa., Jan. 23, 1823, and died at Mapleton, Pa., April 19, 1902 after being run down by a shifting engine. He leaves a wife and seven children to mourn the loss of a kind Christian father. For more than forty years he has been a faithful member of the United Brethren Church. He was one of those who received the old religion from camp-meetings, and all along through these years has kept his eyes Zionward. In our loss here we feel that he has gone, yet his influence and his works do follow him. He was also an active worker in our Christian Endeavor society, and in this we feel a great loss; yet God doeth all things well, and we rest assured that, after the storms of this earthly voyage is over, we shall safely land in the haven of rest.
