Ambrose I.Kercher,84,of 308 N.State St.,Shillington.was dead on arrival yesterday at the Community General Hospital. Born in Rockland Township,he was a son of the late Elias and Leah (Swoyer)Kercher. Before retiring in 1958,he had been employed by the former A.J.Brumbach Woolen Mills,St.Lawrence. Kercher was a member of Zion (Spice)Luteran Church,Alsace township;St.Lawrence Castle 435,Knights of the Golden Eagle,The Stonersville Fire Co,and the Stony Creek Athletic Assn. Kercher was preceded in death May 31,1964 by his wife,Lillie Mae (Hart)Kercher. Surviving are six sons:Paul and Amos,Both of Reading; Clarence of St.Lawrence;Harry of Temple R.D.1;Earl of Temple;and Elmer of Stony Creek Mills;Four daughters: Esther,wife of Louis Zocco,with whom he last resided,Bertha,wife if Heber Snyder,Reading;Edith,wife of Irvin Fetter,Reinholds,and Catharine,wife of Andrew Winters,Green Tree Acres;43 grandchildren;65 great-grandchildren;a great-great-grandchild;a brother,William of Stony Creek Mills;A sister Mamie,Widow of Edwin Mull, Temple. Services will be held Friday at 10 a.m.in the Lutz Funeral Home,the Rev.James P.Popada officiating. Burial will be made in Good Shepherd Cemetery,Tuckerton.
