From family notes on how they got married:

"On Nov. 21, 1925, Florence Miller went to Easton (PA) - ostensibly to see a football game. She wasn't surprised, however, when Henry met her at the station. They attended the football game, had dinner together - and later that evening called at the home of Dr. Allan S. Meck, Pastor of St. Mark's Reformed Church in Easton. At 8:00pm, in a simple wedding ceremony, with Mrs. Meck as the only witness, the former Miss Florence Miller became Mrs. Henry Clay Banks."

The Rev. Dr. Henry Clay Banks, 91, formerly of Cottrell Lake, Union Dale RD, died Tuesday at the Soldier's and Sailor's Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro, following a brief illness. He was the husband of the former Florence E. Miller, who died Aug. 20, 1991.
Born in Philadelphia, son of the late Henry Wellington and Emma Reifsneider Banks, he was a graduate of Lafayette College and Princeton Theological Seminary. He served as pastor of the Peckville Presbyterian Church from 1930 to 1944 and the First Presbyterian Church of Endicott, NY., from 1944 to 1969, when he become pastor emeritus.
He served as supply pastor of the Union Dale and Waymart Presbyterian churches until 1986.
Surviving are a son, Dr. Henry Clay Jr., Wellsboro; three daughters, Lois Cameron, New Bern, NC., Nancy Mills, Raleigh, NC, and Verna Johnson, Dover, NJ; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Saturday at 2 pm with services in the Robert W. Jones Funeral Home Inc., 430 Main St., Forest City. Interment, Union Dale Cemetery.
Friends may call Saturday, 11 am until time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Union Dale Presbyterian Church or the First Presbyterian Church, Endicott, NY.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, November 30 at 2 pm at the Robert W. Jones Funeral Home Inc. in Forest City, PA. Burial will follow in Union Dale Cemetery, Uniondale, PA.
He is survived by his son, Dr. Henry Clay Jr., Wellsboro; three daughters, Lois Cameron, New Bern, NC., Nancy Mills, Raleigh, NC, and Verna Johnson, Dover, NJ; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Dr. Banks was a retired Presbyterian Minister and served churches in Pennsylvania and New York.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, Endicott, NY. from which Dr. Banks had retired in 1969 as Pastor emeritus.
