William Doyle " BIG DADDY " McClung Sr

PITTSBURG - Services for William Doyle McClung Sr.,71 of Pittsburg were held Thursday March 31,2011 AT Emmaunal Baptist Church.Rev. Doyle Rust, Rev Harry Wilson and Mr. Joe Farino oficiated.. He was laid to rest next to his first wife Joy of 46 years at Macedonia Cemetery in Camp County.
Mr McClung was born on Feb 13, 1940 in Piney ,Titus County, Texas and he died at his home srouounded with those he so loved , his wife Pattie, his daughter Kim, Son in law Jim, step daughter Tabby and best girlpal Sue Burns, on Monday March 28, 2011.In Pittsburg,Texas.
He held a Master Peace Officer certificate, was employed at the Pittsburg Police Department for 20 years serving as a Lieutenant. He was a Mason and a member of the Frank Sexton Lodge. Doyle also served his country in The United States Navy aboard the USS Yorktown. He was very proud of his Naval Service. He was a member of The Emmanual Baptist Church.
His was preceeded in death by his parents, William Morris and Ruby Orena Griggs McClung, his wife Joy Jeanette Swarts McClung, an infant son, two brothers, Odis Wayne and James Anthony McClung and three sisters, Dorothy Jean McClung. Ruby Dean Gibson,and Mary Catherine Ward.Grandchildren, Emmalyne Claire Hackler of Biloxi, Mississippi,Jessie Hackler , Kacey Klaire Hackler and Nathaniel James Hackler of College Station, Texas Sister in laws, Bettye Sue Sterk McClung of Pittsburg and Peggy Ann Green Sawyer of Mimms Texas. Mother in law Lucille Wilkinson Story of Doyle and Pattie's home in Pittsburg.Two special nephews Odis Lee McClung of Hallsville, Tx and Rodney Glenn McClung of East Jordan Michigan. 3 days after his buriall he was followed in death by a great grand daughter Kayla Lucille Hackler of Lockhart, Texas. 8 months later by a great grandson Isaac Damon Hackler of Lockhart, Texas.
Mr McClung is survived by his wife of 5 1/2 wonderful years Pattie Story Hackler McClung who he married on September 28, 2005 in Texarkana Arkansas. Two son," Bill" William Doyle Jr and wife Sharon McClung of Brasselton Georgia, Wesley Dwayne Brown and wife Elizabeth of Austin Texasone step son, Mike and wife Kristen Hackler of Lockhart, Texas one daughter, Kim and husband Jim Carrigo of Pittsburg,Texas and one step daughter Tabatha Hackler of Pittsburg, Texas
He is also survived by his much loved grand children, Hunter Trace Carrigo of Pittsburg, Theo Brown of Austin, Texas ,Kim and John Pasqualone of Flowery Branch Georgia, Britini Carrigo of Atoka Oklahoma , MaRyssa and Robby McCoy of Atoka Oklahoma. Kaitlyn and Kiley Hackler of Lockhart,Texas
Great grandchildren Brent and wife Haylee Buffington of Gainesville Georgia ,Maddie Grace Pasqualone of Flowery Branch Georgia and Robert McCoy of Atoka Oklahoma. One great great grandbaby Layla Buffington of Gainesville, Georgia. One grand daughter and one great grandbaby on the way.
Also survived by one brother and his wife, Ottis Dwayne and Cathy McClung of Pittsburg, Mother in law, Birdie Dyar of Pittsburg, many, nieces, nephews,cousins and a host of friends.
Before leaving the church the Members of the Frank Sexton Lodge performed thier funeral ceremony at the church and it was beautiful
The Police Department stood Honor Guard before the services began. And after the services. Police also escorted the funeral prosession to the cemetery where they folded the flag, had an officer play tapps, the flag was presented to his widow, Pattie, by Pittsburg Police Chief Richard Penn, a close officer and friend of Lt McClung who had considered him to be his Mentor for many years and also a presention of a dress hat, a red rose,and his badge on a white pillow was made to her that had been carried through out the funeral by Special Officer Shelley Strickland of The Mt. Pleasant Swat Team. A Officer that Lt. McClung had trained and loved very much.
