Thomas P. Snuffer was born at Maysville, Mo. December 10, 1876, and came to Great Falls in 1897, and as a youth was employed on many ranches in that vicinity. For several years he was employed on the Pugsley, Turner, and Kinreid on the Marias river, where his services were always in demand. In 1907 he came to Chester where he purchased or built what came to be known as the "Red Barn", a first class livery headquarters where he lived and labored until 1921.

He died Thursday, May 5 at the St. Mary hospital in Conrad of pneumonia. Besides his wife he leaves to mourn his death one brother, Ben of Lothair and a brother and sister in Missouri.

Funeral services from the local Catholic church. Followed by a large number of old friends who knew him best he was laid away in his final resting place in the cemetery on the hill.
