Viola L. Bennett, after dancing in many parts of this world, began joyfully dancing with the angels on March 23, 2011 at the age of 92. Viola was born September 18, 1918 in Sam Fordyce, Texas one of five children of John and Luisa Lawrence. Remembering her lovingly are her son, Cecil H. Doolittle and wife Judy of Kerrville, and daughter Judith Vece and husband John of Kerrville. She was predeceased by her parents, husband John R. Bennett and Cecil H. Doolittle, (father of her children), brother John Lawrence of San Antonio and sister Lilly Mae Pruitt of Canadian. Surviving are her sisters Josephine Stribling (Thomas) of Waco and Alice Mann (Tom) of San Antonio, grandchildren Schylar Vece, Jennifer Gonzales, Yvette Dill (Chris), Wayne Wear (Heidi), Shane Davis (Kristine), Christy Witzel (Greg), Tami Nara (John) and Chad Davenport, twenty great grandchildren, with several great great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, their spouses and children. Viola was a long time member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Community, Alamo City Republican Women, San Antonio Conversation Society, Stardusters and a lifetime member of the Bluebirds at Methodist Hospital. Visitation at 6:00 PM with Rosary to follow at 7:00 PM at Mission Park on March 31, 2011. Mass of the Resurrection will be at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church on Friday April 1, 2011 at 12:00 NOON. Final interment following at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
