Son of Philander Tyler and Melinda Chatterson. Married Lydia Towns 8 Jun 1869 in Brighton, Northumberland, Ontario. Children Ethelma, Harvey, Albertha, Evelina, Oliver, Viola, Andrew, Pearl, Rena. All were born in Brighton before comoing to Central Lake. The first four appear to have died before 1900. David died in an asylum in Traverse City while suffering from depression.
