She was born on June 29, 1920 in Bellaire, OH a daughter of the late Michael and Margaret Coyne Durant. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Clinton W. Gilkey in 1962 and 12 siblings.
She graduated from Bellaire St. John High School and was a homemaker. Veronica was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and the Altar & Rosary Society. She volunteered at the Brooke County Senior Center.
Surviving are four children; Michael (Mary K.) Gilkey and Ann (Charles) Cash both of Wintersville, OH; Paul (Rosemary) Gilkey of Weirton, WV; and Linda (Bill) Wildman of Pine Grove, WV 6 Grandchildren
Friends will be received on Friday, February 11th from 9:00 A.M. until time of the Funeral Liturgy of the Word at 10:00 A.M. at the Mullenbach Funeral Home 669 Main St. Follansbee, WV with Fr. Jack Federico officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Follansbee, WV.
