Beverly was born in New Hanover County on August 30, 1943, and was the daughter of the late Icel Kilmer Hewett and Evalena Galloway Hewett. She was preceded in death by a son Charles Ray Bazen Jr. She was a faithful member of Shell Point Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School Teacher for 43 years.
She is survived by a son, Michael Bazen Sr. of Supply; a grandson, Michael Bazen Jr. of Supply; a sister, Bonnie Inman and husband Tommy of Shallotte; two brothers, Benny Hewett of Supply and Mitchell B. Hewett of Chambersburg, Pa.
Funeral services will be held Monday March 28, 2011, at 2pm at Shell Point Baptist Church with Reverend Tommy Inman and Reverend Landis Lancaster officiating. Burial will follow in the Georgetown-Holden Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be, John Henry Ward, David Stevens, Billy Hewett, Bob Williams, Steve Stout, Louis Inman.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 Sunday evening at Shell Point Baptist Church.
Beverly was truly loved by everyone who knew her and will be sorely missed. An angel has gone home.
