Verna was my grandmother's sister and the youngest known child of Grandpa and Grandma Maurer.

On 27 July 1940, she married LeRoy NMN Beshears, Sr., the son of George Seaman Beshears and Leora (or Leonora) Frey, in Festus, Jefferson Co., MO. Family lore said Saint Louis, but the records speak otherwise!

Verna's children were LeRoy, Jr. and Delores Martha Beshears Holbrook.

Delores sent a wonderful letter to me, years ago, by way of my grandmother. It went into some detail on her family and was a follow-up to a phone conversation through which, in fact, we met.

I also managed to contact LeRoy once, but was unable to track him down later on. I discovered by accident that he had passed away in the interim.
