Vivian Aiken, age 8l, of Charlotte died March 20, 2011 at Presbyterian Hospital.
A visitation will be from 6-8PM Thursday at Forest Lawn West Funeral Home. A service to celebrate her life will be at 11:00AM Friday in the Funeral Home Chapel, Reverend George Sherman officiating. Interment will be in Forest Lawn West Cemetery.
Mrs. Aiken was born December 9, 1929 in Charlotte, daughter of the late Walter and Dorothy Groves Kanipe. She was a member of Shady Brook Baptist Church, Edna Craig Sunday School Class, was a nursery worker many years, member of the Senior Adult Group. She was a homemaker and an avid gardener and loved to read.
Surviving are her husband of 58 years, Robert W. Aiken, Sr., children, Robert W. Aiken, Jr. and Bruce Alan Aiken (Beverly), all of Charlotte, grandchildren, Justin Lee Aiken of Charlotte and Julie Wallace (Mike) of Mt. Holly, NC and an aunt, Viola Smith of Asheboro, NC.
