Statesboro - Thelma J. Adams, 82, died Oct. 5 at St. Luke's Hospital in Manhattan, N.Y. She was born in Juliette and lived in Eastman before moving to Statesboro in 1956. She attended Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville, worked as a dental assistant for her brother, Dr. John L. Jackson and retired from the State Department of Education Film Library at Georgia Southern University after 25 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Gleaners Sunday School Class, and a member of the Statesboro Business and Professional Women's Club.

Survivors: four children, Edwina P. Morris of New York City, Robert J. Paul of St. Charles, Mo., Jack M. Paul of Arlington, Va., and Alice P. Stratton of Scarborough, N.Y.; a brother, Hiram M. Jackson of Milledgeville; a sister, Elsie P. Dawkins of Boutte, La.; five granddaughters and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral: 3 p.m. Sunday at the First Baptist Church, burial in Eastside Cemetery.
