Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 13, 2011, at Great Hills Baptist Church in Austin, TX. Pastor Danny Forshee will officiate. Interment will follow at Austin Memorial Park Cemetery.
Patricia was born on August 12, 1941, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma to Roy and Dircie Rhodes. She was a Registered Nurse with a Masters Degree in Hospital Administration from Texas State University.
She was an active member of the Great Hills Baptist Church and worked with various political and charity groups. Her interests included family, travel, reading, and spending time with friends. She devoted much of her energy to missionary work, most recently delivering medical assistance to the people of Niger, Africa.
Her family wrote: "Sudie loved her Lord and Savior first and foremost. She enjoyed her Sunday School group and Ladies Bible Study group at her church. Her family and friends meant the world to her. She loved sharing funny stories about her grandsons with others. She was a bright, shining star who will live on in our hearts."
Patricia is survived by her father and mother, Roy and Dircie Rhodes, her brother Wayne Rhodes, her sister, Shirley Newland, her beloved son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Sandra Swanson, and grandsons, Anthony and Cameron Swanson.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Dr. Leon Rhodes.
