Mrs. Mattie Holmes Butt, age 85, died in Baltimore, MD, after being in failing health for some time. She was born in Bolivar, WV, and her husband died a number of years ago. Mrs. Butt had lived in Baltimore for some time and until recently she had visited relatives and friends in Bolivar frequently. Funeral services were held Sunday (May 8) from the Methodist Episcopal church, Bolivar, WV, with the Rev. C.E. Smith officiating. Interment in Harper Cemetery. Mrs. Butt was a member of the Bolivar M.E. Church.
