08 OCT 2021 Notice that a merge had occurred.~Emigrated to the Michigan from Germany in 1849. Enlisted 14 Nov, 1861 in "G" Company, 12th Michigan Infantry. Wounded at Pittsburgh Landing (Shilo)in 1862. After recovering he re-enlisted in February of 1864. Moved to Fayetteville Arkansas after the Civil War.
Obituary:
"After an illness of several weeks John Radles(sic) passed away Wednesday morning at his home a short distance south of town. The remains were interred Wednesday afternoon at the Shady Grove cemetery. Mr. Radles had been a resident of this section for many years and was an honorable and upright citizen. He was a member of the Adventist Church and leaves a wife and a number of children who have the sympathy of all."
His (second) wife, Sarah L. Simpson, born 1852, Died only a week later on 26 June, 1900. Their elder daughter, Anna Melissa Raedels, took over the family farm at 13.
