William James "Doc" Smith, 69, of Bucklin, died Wednesday, March 16, 2011, at Hill Top Nursing Home in Bucklin, where he had been a resident for several years.

He was born June 12, 1941, in Vinita, Okla., to Leo and Faye W. Williams Smith.

Survivors include a sister, Betty L. Guy of Hamilton, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Arthur M. and Nolen L. LeGate.

Graveside servics were at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City.
