Marian 'Nim' Ella Peterson 1922 - 2011.
Nim, a long time resident of Delano, CA passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family. Born Marian Twiford in 1922 in Chamberlain, So. Dakota, she was the eighth of 12 children. Nim met and married Francis 'Pete' Peterson on May 29, 1942. She was preceded in death by her husband Pete and her son Mark. She is survived by her brother, Douglas Twiford, and her daughters and sons-in law; Dana and Butch Wyrick, Ellen and Randy Schlake, Jill and Elgie LeJeune, and her daughter-in-law, Theresa Peterson. Nim has 10 grandchildren; Ryan Wyrick, Tara Leal, Christopher Walker, Andrea Grimes, Kelli Nicks, David Underhill, Katy Underhill, Megan LaVoy, Conor Peterson, and Chelsea Peterson. She also has 14 1/2 great grandchildren. Nim had a gregarious nature, with a loving, caring heart. She was active in the PTA and was a proud member of the Mondiannes. She will be cherished always by a wide circle of family and friends. Gravesite services will be held at North Kern Cemetery, on Wednesday March 16th at 11:00 a.m., where she will be laid to rest by her husband, Pete. www.bakersfield.com/obits
