On July 1,1867 little Cordelia Caroline came to the country home of Samuel and Mary Cline of Kingston, Arkansas to brighten the lives of her parents, two little brothers and three little sisters. She lived in the same community near Rule, Ark. until about twenty-one years ago when the family came to this present home.
At the age of 16, she gave her heart to God and joined the Cumberland Presbyterian church. She remained a faithful Christian and though her health didn't permit her to be out, she never failed to hear the Sunday morning sermon and songs on the radio. A testimony of her life is a desire of her loved ones to be like her.
On January 8,1885 she was united in marriage to L.M. Brown and they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversaty just three years ago.
Five children came to bless this union, a baby girl was called home at the age of 3 months. The other daughter and three sons remained with her during her brief illness of pneumonia which came to an end on December 2nd, 1935 at 3:40 pm after a life of 68 years,5 months and 1 day. She leaves to bear their loneliness, the comfort of each other and a loving Father who knoweth all griefs.
A devoted husband, one daughter Mrs. J.W. Walker, Follett,Texas Three sons, W.R. and Elmer E. Brown, Follett,Texas and Otis Brown, Lipscomb, Texas.
Fourteen grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren 1 brother and two sisters near the old home in Arkansas, many other relatives, friends and neighbors who will miss her happy smiles and presence in the home. Probably no words can expresss their love for her and how dear she was to their hearts.
