My mom was an amazing person. She lived her life to the fullest. She never thought anything she did was important. Mom always put everyone else first. When she was working for the Ft. Zumwalt School District she organized blanket drives, food drives and took everyone under her wing. Mom was the 1st reciepient of the Ft. Zumwalt Humanitarian Award and numerous other recognitions for her heart's work. She went into work everyday to make coffee before the teachers and administration arrived. She had a soft spot in her heart for the kids that didn't quite fit in, the "misfits". At lunch time she would have a table of her misfits, who would then make friends with each other, no longer misfits. She had a huge, forgiving heart. I think her heart was bigger than her.
Mom sacrificed and worked hard to support us. I always knew where I could turn. She was funny and quirky. When she and my Aunt Faye got together, they would usually get themselves into some sort of trouble, mostly with my dad. One time on a trip to Bagnell Dam we had stopped for breakfast. I was about 7 or 8, I had ordered hotcakes off the menu (not knowing what hotcakes were). I was so hungry and kept asking when the food was going to be there. Mom kept saying in a minute. Well, the waitress finally brought cream, sugar, butter, syrup. Again, not knowing what hotcakes were, I put syrup on the butter and begin eating. It was so gross!!!! My parents and aunt were laughing so hard. Finally my dad asked what I was doing. I told him I was eating my hotcakes and I didn't like them. When they were done laughing, my dad told me hotcakes are pancakes, no one could mention that before I ate butter pads. The same trip my mom and aunt forgot my brother in his stroller. We had walked for a while when my dad asked "where's David?". Oh my gosh we ran back to find him unharmed and quite contented. I could tell story after story. Like the time my mom and Aunt Faye locked my grandma in the bathroom at a hosptial...... Life may not have always been fun...but it was never boring with the two of them around. Mom and I never left each other or hung up the phone without saying "I love you". She always worried at fussed about us. When she suffering from pancreatic cancer she would always ask how we are. I would ask her how she was, always she would say "I'm fine, don't worry about me." She was prouder of us that I think any of us could live up to. I love her sooo much. I lost my ma and my best friend.

On May 28, 1955 she married the love of her life, Donald Everett Endicott (07/04/1936). She gave birth to a beautiful baby daughter (me) Kathleen Lynn Endicott April 24, 1960 and a son David Brian Endicott November 24, 1966.
Mom passed quietly and peacefully at her home, March 14, 2011, surrounded by the people who loved her most, her husband, daughter, son, granddaughter, Meghan, grandsons, Zachary and Joshua, son in law, Ed and daughter in law, Debra. My mom leaves a huge hole in the hearts of those who love her. We have comfort in knowing Mom is in the arms of Jesus and is now surrounded by those who preceeded her on the great journey.

Loving wife of 56 years to Don Endicott; dear daughter of the late Richard and Edna Ippert; devoted mother of Kathleen (Ed) Sneed and David (Debra) Endicott; cherished grandmother of Meghan Endicott, Danielle (Mark) Johnson, Zachary Sneed and Joshua Sneed; great-grandmother of Bella Houck and Ryien Johnson. She is also survived by her sister and best friend Faye Hey, sisters Debbie Kenney, Tina Mosqueda and Stella Diaraghi; many sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews, and many friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Richard Ippert and Edna May Meyer Hillard, her brothers Leroy J. Hillard, Jr., Christoper Hillard, Thomas Hillard, Robert Ippert and Arthur Ippert.
Shirley worked at the Fort Zumwalt School District for over 30 years and was a member of Discovery Church. Shirley's main passions in life were lovingly caring for her family and reaching out to others by dedicating her time and efforts in many charitable organizations.
