LOIS JEAN GRIFFIN 'Jeannie' joined our beloved mother June, in their biblical destiny of eternal life August 28, 2010 a month following her 62nd birthday. Having never being parted long in life, it is no surprise their partnership would continue in the hereafter. Jeannie is mourned by brother Leon Griffin, Jr., grieving parents Leon and Norma Griffin, sister Faith Griffin Morris, uncle James G. King, Jr., cousins Francita King Guy, Diane King Franklin, Deborah Helms, Wanda Crenshaw, Richard Griffin, nieces and nephews Jaime (Brandon) Best, Deborah B. Griffin, Shelia Patrick and James Watkins, Jr.. During her years at Melrose High School, the library held a special place in her education and her avocation of spreading knowledge. Following her high school graduation of 1966, she earned a BA from Memphis State University. Jeanie worked at UTCHS in personnel for over 18 years before being chosen by Ms. Hensley to purchase Henley's Florist with her partner. She touched the lives of thousands of patients during her near decade of work with Dr. Oliver Hardy. But her greatest impact was demonstrated by the love she held for all 'her babies' who she helped raise into responsible adults. The effect of this love shows in their lies today and will certainly be passed on to future generations. Most important thanks to her church home Holmes Road Church of Christ for all their support. Visitation will be Friday, September 10, from 5-8 p.m. at T. H. Hayes & Sons, 706 S. Lauderdale with graveside services Saturday, September 11, 2p.m. in Elmwood Cemetery. The family requests all memorials be given to the charity of your choice.
