Arnie was born the son of Knud & Marie Neilson Christensen. He grew up in West Bend and graduated from West Bend High School in 1941. On June 15, 1945 he and Viola Mae Ulrich were married in Rolfe, IA. Following their marriage they farmed in the Rolfe area. In 1971 they moved to a farm south of Slayton, MN and continued farming. They retired in 1993 and moved to Iona, MN. Arnie had a love for farming and for the land. In June 2006 Arnie moved to the Sunset Hospice Cottage in Worthington, MN. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Slayton. Arnold enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling, and playing cards.

Arnie & Vi were the parents of Ronald Christensen, Donald Christensen, Jane Peterson, Linda Wilkison, & James and Christensen.

Arnie's siblings include Anna Johnson. One brother, Albert Christensen, preceded Arnie in death.

Funeral services were held at Totzke Funeral Chapel in Slayton, MN, Rev. Ted Kuntze officiating.
