He was born August 11, 1947 in Connersville, the son of William C. and Elizabeth Honaker Cargal.

For many years, he was employed at D & M in Connersville, where he was very active in the union, and later worked for the Indiana Department of Natural Resources at the Brookville Reservoir.

A member of the AMVETS and the Eagles Lodge, he loved hunting, fishing and being outdoors.

Survivors include a daughter, Dana Martinez and husband, Richard, Jr.; and a son, Scott Cargal, all of San Antonio, TX; three granddaughters, Caitlin Drummond of San Antonio, and Skylar Cargal and Lauren Cargal, both of Cleveland, OH; a sister, Linda Swango, of Connersville;and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

William's family wishes to express thanks and gratitude for his special cousin, Shannon King, and his special friend, Joed Connaway.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter in law, Jennifer Cargal, who died January 12, 2010.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Monday, March 14, 2011 in Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home, where friends may call from 1 p.m. until the time of the service.
