"Mrs. Lillian Mae Heath, 73, of Gladstone died Wednesday at Willamette Falls Hospital following an extended illness.
Mrs. Heath was born Oct. 3, 1888 in Clackamas County and had lived in Oregon most of her life, except for a few years residing in Everett, Wash. She had lived at Jennings Lodge a few years and the balance of her lifetime in Gladstone.
Mrs. Heath was the daughter of the late Peter and Sarah Rinearson whose parents crossed the plains in 1845 and filed a Donation Land Claim. West Gladstone is now part of that property.
Jacob and Ann Johnston, grandparents of Mrs. Heath, crossed the plains in 1856, a journey which required six months from Iowa. Their descendents hold an annual reunion at the Clackamas County Fair Grounds. Lillian Heath was the eldest of the clan of more than 600 members during the year 1962.
Mrs. Heath married H. Clinton Heath in 1912, who preceeded her in death Feb. 7, 1960 at his home in Gladstone.
Mrs. Heath is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Edna Baker, Long Beach, Calif., Mrs. Viola Jurgen, Portland, Mrs. Evelyn Hanson, Oregon City and Mrs. Dorothy May, Oswego; one sister, Mrs. Anna Rankin, Gladstone; three sisters-in-law, Clara Rinearson, Nora Rall, Nora Rall and Elsie Rall; three sons-in-law, Loy Baker, Gilbert Hanson and Dean May; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren."
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Aug. 18 at Holman-Hankin and Rilance Funeral Home in Oregon City at 10 a.m. with Dr.James Matthew Alley, Pastor of the Gladstone Christian Church.
Burial will be at Mountain View Cemetery.
