Alvin "Bob" "Pop-Pop" DeStefano, 80 Of Brookhaven, PA Alvin "Bob" "Pop-Pop", 80, died Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at Taylor Hospice House, Ridley Park, PA. Mr. DeStefano was born in Gallitzin, PA; he had been a resident of Brookhaven, for 47 years. Mr. DeStefano was a graduate of the University of Maryland and obtained a degree in Journalism. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served during the Korean Conflict. He worked for State Farm Insurance Company for over 40 years, and retired as an Underwriter Supervisor. Mr. DeStefano was a member of The Church of Our Lady of Charity. He was devoted to his family especially his grandchildren and attended all of their special events. He enjoyed the seashore and vacations with his family in North Wildwood, NJ. He was an avid sportsman and was a passionate Eagles and Phillies fan. Husband of 50 years to the late Irene Winnie (Harvanek) DeStefano who died May 23, 2005 Survivors: Daughter Terri (Anthony) Filippone of Mullica Hill, NJ; son Jeff (Debbie) DeStefano of Aston, PA; grandchildren Christian, Kelsi, Samuel, Jessica, Dawn and Nicole. Funeral Mass 10:30 AM on Friday, at The Church Of Our Lady Of Charity, 231 Upland Rd., Brookhaven, PA Visitation 9:30 - 10:30 AM Friday, at The Church of Our Lady of Charity. Interment: Mount Hope Cemetery, Aston, PA Memorial Gifts in memory of Alvin DeStefano may be given to Taylor Hospice, 300 Johnson Ave., P.O. Box 147, Ridley Park, PA 19078.
