Lorraine H. (Howe) Alemoni, 85, of Bristol, widow of Romeo W. Alemoni, died on Monday (March 7, 2011) at home. Mrs. Alemoni was born in Bristol on August 11, 1925 and was a daughter of the late George W. and Valencia (Francoeur) Howe. A lifelong Bristol resident, she graduated from Bristol High School and served in the local USO during World War II. Along with raising 3 children, she spent 31 years with Marlin Rockwell manufacturing in Plainville as a ball bearing assembler. She retired in 1986 and continued to enjoy summer vacations in New Hampshire, monthly card games with her friends of many years, making ceramics, and family gatherings. The family extends its heartfelt thanks to Rosie Galindo, her long time caregiver and to the Bristol Hospital Hospice organization. Lorraine is survived by two sons and a daughter in law, Ricky Alemoni of Bristol, and William and Doraine Alemoni of New Hartford; a daughter and her companion, Carolyn Nelson and Charles Keller of Terryville; five grandchildren, Kristen Giantonio and her husband, Joe, of Bristol, Kim Snyder of Manchester, Kari Nelson of Waterbury, Tara Nicholas, and her husband, Adam of Southwick, MA, and Teron Alemoni of New Hartford; two great granddaughters, Mia Giantonio and Brenna Nicholas. She was predeceased by a brother, George Howe Jr. and a sister, Winifred Brasley. Funeral services will be held on Friday (March 11, 2011) at 11 AM at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday between 10 and 11 AM.
