Kentucky Death Certificate #30064 states:
(1) Dosia Dye, white female widow, born in Kentucky & died October 30, 1929 in Hickorynut Precinct, Pulaski County, Kentucky at the age of 80.
(2) Dosia Dye was the wife of John L. Dye.
(3) Dosia Dye was the d/o Spencer McDannel born in Kentucky & Liley Spears born in Kentucky. (NOTE: Several of John & Josephine's childrens' death certificates give Josephine's last name as McDaniel.)
(4) INFORMANT: Wm. Dye of Oil Center, Kentucky.
(5) BURIAL: Fishing Creek Church on November 2, 1929.

(NOTE: Believe that "Dosia" was Josephine's nickname.)

FAMILY/RESEARCH NOTES:
1. The 1900 Pulaski Co., KY census states Josaphine was born in July 1849 in Kentucky.
2. Birth Date calculated from the age & death date listed on death certificate -- 30 OCT 1849. In the 1900 census, birth date is shown as July 1849.
3. According to 1870 Pulaski Co, KY census, John & Josephine married about 1867.
4. Children listed in 1870 to 1900 census --- William T., Killis J., Lindzy B., Bettie, Oscar, Matilda, Jessie, Jasper D., & Beatrice. (NOTE: Believe that Bettie is Mary Elizabeth).
5. I first put Josephine in Fishing Creek Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery and on 3-9-11 requested a Tombstone photo. Photographer states: "I searched the entire cemetery and could not find the grave. Individual is definitely not in this very small cemetery. All markers are in excellent condition and are highly readable. "
Believe that she may have been buried in the Old Fishing Creek Cemetery which I understand was moved to Oil Center Cemetery.
Josephine McDaniel Dye, 71 years of age, was the wife of John G. Dye, who was born on August 22nd, 1843 and preceded her in death on September 5th, 1913.

She was born on July 12th, 1849, and departed this life in 1920 in San Joaquin, California. She was a daughter of the late Spencer M. McDaniel and Delila McDaniel. Josephine and John were blessed with six sons, William T., Archillus J., Lindsey Brange, Oscar, John C. and Jasper Dock Dye; and five daughters, Mary Elizabeth, Bettie, Matilda Mattie, Jessie, and Beatrice Dolly Dye.

Josephine had one brother, John McDaniel; and three sisters, Elizabeth, Hannah, and Martha McDaniel.

Her husband John was buried in the Old Fishing Creek Cemetery but when the Wolf Creek Dam was built in the 1940's he was moved and reburied in the Ringgold Cemetery in Somerset, Kentucky. Josephine's burial is unknown at this time.
