Elmer Bodtke
Dies Tuesday
Elmer Bodtke died at the Clarke County Public Hospital in Osceola on Tuesday, November 18. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 21, from the Webster Funeral Home in Osceola with the Reverends Cecil Murrow of Des Moines and Galen Kessler of New Virginia conducting the l:30 p. m. rites.
Elmer Paul Bodtke was born April, 3, 1918, in Lorimor, Iowa, son of Emanuel Bodtke and Lula Akins Bodtke. He received his education in Lorimor schools and on September 27, 1942, married Veda Chumbley in Princeton, Missouri. Three children were born to this union. The past 15 years he has lived in New Virginia where he worked in construction. He was affiliated with the Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Veda of New Virginia; son, Jimmy and wife, Sandy of Beunna Park, California; son, Bob arid wife, Cindy of Norco, California; son, Russell of New Virginia; mother, Lula Austin of Des Moines; four brothers; five sisters; three grandchildren, Michael, Donna and Melinda; mother-in-law, Vearl Nicholson of New Virginia and other relatives.
Burial will be in Bethel Chapel Cemetery in Clarke County.
