Frances E. Augustin
Frances E. Augustin, 90, of 2935 Kufmann Ave., formerly of 7866 Crystal Lake Cave Drive, died Wednesday morning, May 5, 1999, at Dubuque Nursing and Rehab Center.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Catherine (Iowa) Catholic Church, with the Rev. Scott Bullock officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Hoffmann-Schneider Funeral Home, 1640 Main St., where there will be a wake service at 7:30 p.m. Friends also may call after 9 a.m. Friday at the church.
She was born on March 16, 1909, in Guttenberg, Iowa, daughter of Joseph and Anna (Burr) Felder. She married Frank W. Augustin of June 3, 1931, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Guttenberg, he died Jan. 31, 1991.
She graduated from St. Mary's High School, Guttenberg, in 1928. She was a member of the Dubuque County Farm Bureau, St. Catherine Parish, and a former member of its rosary society. Frances loved to play cards.
Surviving are two sons, Frank J. Augustin, of Dubuque, and Donald (Dorothy) Augustin, of St. Catherine; a daughter, Sandra (Archie) Mueller, of Bellevue, Iowa; 13 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; and a brother, Sylvester (Vi) Felder, of Sun City Center, Fla.
She also was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Helen Augustin; a grandson, Tom Augustin; her brothers, Albert, Clarence, Edward and Joseph Jr.; and her sisters, Hilda Carrier and Clara Markus.
The family requests no flowers. A Frances E. Augustin Memorial Fund has been established.
