He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a recipient of a Korean Service Medal with 2 Bronze Stars and other medals. He was a retired bus driver for Green Bus Line in Jamaica, N.Y.

SURVIVORS: his wife, Theresa Bergin of Pembroke; a daughter, Rosemary Bush of Pembroke; a son, James Bergin of Brentwood, N.Y.; a sister, Philamena Downey of Dublin, Ireland; and several nieces and nephews.
